Designed with an African beat in our hearts.
Howzit Kwaggas!
Thank you for stopping by!
We are Manny & Yolanda, a South African born and bred husband-and-wife-duo who, after 17 years in the UK still cannot (and won’t) get South Africa out of our hearts. We have travelled many kwaai lekker places, lived in both Wales and (now) England, made lovely British as well as expat Saffa and other foreigner friends along the way, but Africa will always be apart of who we are, no matter where life takes us. You know the saying; “you can take the Saffa out of Africa but you can never take Africa out of the Saffa!”
Manny is a South African ‘Porra’ who loves nothing more than a lekker braai with some South African music on full blast, and enjoys the finer comforts in life. Yolanda is a ‘boeremeisie’ (minus the farm! ha) with a passion for sustainability, camping, cultures and the simple things in life - plat op die aarde really! We have two beautiful British born mix masala kids who we believe inherited their bakgat sense of humour from us - of course!
So ja, with the African drums still beating in our hearts, a passion for our homeland South Africa, the slang, culture, (weather!), loved ones and our friendly rainbow nation, the idea of Kwagga was born.
Kwagga is for all kiff Saffas who, just like us, still enjoy and appreicate those unique South African slang words, phrases and humour no matter where in the world you are. But Kwagga is not just another South African t-shirt business either. Kwagga not only prides itself on high quality clothing and accessories, but in doing so more sustainably - we care about the planet. Wherever possible, our products are selected for their natural organic materials, animal testing free, ethically made and efforts to limit the use of plastic in our packaging as much as possible via our suppliers. Our products are also printed on demand so as to limit potential waste caused by unsold stock - a better solution for the environment. We also wanted to go even a step further to keep all good condition, outgrown products in circulation as long as possible to prevent it from landfill as much as possible, so we’ve created our ‘KAAL’ (aka ‘Kwaggas Against Apparel Landfill’) Facebook Group where members can swop, sell, buy, gift or donate any Kwagga brand clothing they no longer wear instead of just throwing it out. ‘Kaal’ is just a metaphor for ‘taking it off to pass on to someone else”. Eish! Don’t worry, you don’t actually have to get naked to join and we really don’t want to see kaalgatte on there, okay! ;P
We hope that you enjoy checking out our products and if you decide to support us, that our product quality and designs will make you a very happy Kwagga!
Cheers vir eers,
Manny & Yolanda
